## Bring an account to your team.

### Find the setup

Open its security settings and find the authenticator QR code, link or key.

Save a recovery option before making changes.

### Add the account

Upload the QR image or paste the setup into MFA Accounts.

Then open Edit to share it with people or groups.

### Try a code

Generate a code, finish setup at the service, and ask a teammate to try a sign-in.

Keep the old setup until the new one works.

## Authenticator questions

### Who can get a code?

Choose people or groups for each account. View access lets them get codes; Manage also lets them edit, share and remove the account. Its creator, team admins and owners always retain management access. To share with the whole team, choose the Default group; this includes future teammates too.

### Which sign-in methods work?

Supported time-based and counter-based authenticator setups work with a QR code, link or key. Push approvals, passkeys and physical security keys cannot be imported.

### What is stored?

Setup keys are encrypted. The server reads a key to generate a code; it does not return the saved key to teammates. Code generation and copying are recorded by person and account, without the key or code in the log.

### What happens when someone leaves?

Remove their team membership to stop future access here. Review sessions and recovery options at the original service too. Deleting an account here does not switch off its sign-in checks there.

### What if the account sends SMS?

Add a paid company number instead. SMS number acceptance is decided by the service sending the text. Test a full sign-in before relying on it.

## The team can get its own code.
