## Help with codes and messages

### How do we add an authenticator account?

Open MFA Accounts and add the setup QR code, setup link or key from the service you want to share. Check the account details, save it and test a code at that service. It must support standard authenticator codes. Keep its recovery codes somewhere safe before changing your sign-in setup.

### Who can generate authenticator codes?

People with View or Manage access can get codes. Share accounts with people or groups; Manage also allows editing, sharing and removal. Creators and team admins retain management access. Sharing with the Default group includes every active teammate, including future joiners.

### Why is my authenticator code being rejected?

Check you chose the right account and finished setup at the original service. If the code expired, get a new one. Still locked out? Use that service’s recovery option. Never send a setup key or code to support.

### Where is my message?

Check the number at the sending service, including its country code. Request a new text and watch the correct inbox. Some services reject these numbers; keep the old setup until a test arrives.

### Why can’t my teammate see it?

Ask an administrator to check their access to that number. They also need to accept their team invite and sign in with their own login. If an administrator cannot see the message either, check delivery first.

### Where did an older message go?

Message text and codes are erased after 72 hours by default. An administrator can change that period. Erased text cannot be restored, but the sender and arrival record stay. Request a fresh code if you need one.
