## A few things to know

### What is Shared MFA Inbox?

Shared MFA Inbox gives your team access to authenticator codes and SMS for shared company accounts. MFA means multi-factor authentication: the extra code a service asks for after your password. Generate authenticator codes in your browser, or receive texts at a company number. Each teammate signs in with their own account.

### Will the number work with every website?

No. Some services accept only certain kinds of phone number, and many accept only numbers from their own country. That decision belongs to the service sending the message, not to us, and it can change without notice. Before you depend on the number for an important account, add it there and send yourself a test message.

### Who can generate authenticator codes?

People with View or Manage access can get codes. Share accounts with people or groups; Manage also allows editing, sharing and removal. Creators and team admins retain management access. Sharing with the Default group includes every active teammate, including future joiners.
